Greater Cincinnati Corvettes brings together Corvette enthusiasts

Greater Cincinnati Corvettes (GCC), the area’s newest group of Corvette enthusiasts, recently gathered 50 cars and nearly 100 people at Devou Park for the inaugural Cincinnati Corvette Connection. The event brought together owners and admirers from around the region to meet each other, conduct a scenic driving tour, and get an inside look at one of the nation’s preeminent Corvette restorers, Eastern Corvettes.
“Until now, most of our interaction was only through email and social media or at Cars and Coffee events here in town,” said James Fausz, founder of Greater Cincinnati Corvettes. “We have a great presence on Facebook with a lot of active members, and an email list for people who aren’t on social media. Until the Connection, there were people that I had talked to several times online but never met in person. It was nice to get everyone together in one place and meet a lot of people for the first time.”
The group was founded in May 2016 by three people from Greater Cincinnati. It provides local owners, and those who want to someday be owners, a place to share experiences and help each other when questions arise. Today there are approximately 250 members with additional people added daily.
“One of the things that’s really special is that the group is welcoming to everyone,” explained Mike Hack, owner of Eastern Corvettes and longtime member of the group. “People with brand new Corvettes off the lot, owners of cars that need some sprucing up, both men and women car owners, and people bringing their kids – everyone is welcome in GCC. When we were discussing what to do for the Connection, it was a no-brainer for Eastern Corvettes to host the members for a tour and lunch.”
Hack knows a thing or two about Corvettes. His company specializes in restoring early Corvettes to factory-original condition and has won the highest honors possible for numerous cars. “We were all car fans as kids so we want to welcome and be here to pass along the passion to the next generation of Corvette fans,” Hack added.
The group is still in its infancy but is growing every day. “Our plan for the near future is to get to the point where we hold several events each year,” explained Lee Fogel, one of the group’s founding members. “We’re always looking for owners and enthusiasts to join us and be a part of the fun. We hope to double our membership by the second Cincinnati Corvette Connection sometime next summer.”
The group invites anyone who loves Corvettes or has a Corvette of any vintage to join.
